During my research last month I came across this cardio statistic which I found completely astonishing.
It stated that: 1 pound of fat = approximately 4,100 calories
On average calories are burnt at 300 calories per hour
This means that if you divide the approximate amount calories equal to a pound of fat by the average calories burnt per hour you will know how many cardio workout hours you need to accomplish before you will lose One pound of fat!
4,100 calories divided by 300 calories = X
X = 13.66 workout hours
13.66 workout hours = 1 pound of fat
Now, lets use this computation to learn how long it will take by performing only cardio exercise to lose weight.
Example
A 6-foot 5-inch man weighing 300 pounds wants to lose 50 pounds by only doing cardio exercise.
We know that 1 pound of fat = 13.66 hours of workout.
50 pounds times 13.66 workout hours = X
X = 683.33
Essentially the man would need to perform 683.33 total hours to lose 50 pounds of fat by cardio exercise only.
Now let me put this into perspective.
It takes 683.33 total hours to lose the weight divided by 2 hours of cardio each day = X
X = the number of days needed to lose the weight
or X = 341.66 days
Are you thinking “WOW! That’s an interesting statistic? But what does it really mean?”
Its pretty simple.
It means you could if you wanted to lose the weight through cardio exercise only workout every day and you will eventually reach your goal.
But it also means, that if you implore three simple changes into your current lifestyle, you can essentially lose that same amount of weight in a shorter period of time through drinking more water, eating healthier and proper exercising.
